WordPress Forum Plugin
Monday, January 25th, 2010It’s almost a year now since i released WPJobBoard (WordPress Job Board plugin), i got a positive feedback from the community, at the same time i learned few things to make WPJobBoard better. Now i am planning to release WPJobBoard 3.0, and within few months i am planning to launch completely new product WordPress Forum Plugin.
Actually i was playing with this idea for few months already and rewriting WPJobBoard was a part of the plan. New WordPress Forum Plugin – it does not have a codename yet, so if you have nice idea for it, please share in the comments. Either way “it” will share some code with the WPJobBoard, and will work pretty similar.
My main goal is to make forum plugin that will: be lightweight, integrate with any theme, managed from the WordPress admin panel.
I know there are already few WordPress forum plugins ready, but after analyzing them i came to the conclusion that my ideas and features i want to implement are unique enough, so it’s worth to give it a shot and create this plugin.
As for the price, WPJobBoard price (for some) is quite high, however this is software that is designed to make money so in my opinion the price is justified. On the other hand, forums do not produce much income, so the price of the plugin will be much lower if not free.
Plugin should be ready somewhere in March i believe, if you have any suggestions, comments or questions please post below i will be happy to answer each of them.

Question: if I already own the 2.0 job board plugin. What will it cost to upgrade to 3.0 when its released?
I did not thought about it i will probably give some kind of discount to existing customers – maybe 20% – 30%.
Hi, my first comment here . Nice site you have here guys. I’ll repost as i’m done with the first tour around.
What about naming your plugin as :
WordPress Community Forum ?
It’a forum for a community that you build with WordPress ? isn’t it ?
see ya
Just a question:
What doc type are you aiming for your forum plugin : Transitional or Strict ?
Doctype is encoded in theme header.php so it will depend on the theme that one is using.
BTW @serge i sent you an email, did you got it?
Hello, nice to visit your blog. emmm… but I’m newbie in cyberspace how you can I learn it?
